I spent the summer we graduated traveling in a singing group. We did concerts up and down the east coast. I hold great memories of that summer!

I worked at First National Exchange Bank (later to become Dominion Bank, then First Union, Wachovia and now it's Wells Fargo). I worked in Management Information Systems for five years then transferred into the Marketing Department downtown as the Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Marketing where I worked for two years prior to getting married.

Stephen (Andrew Lewis '68) and I got married in June, 1987. We moved to Virginia Beach because he was in the Navy and he said his ship wouldn't fit in the Roanoke River. He finished his Navy career and now works with a government contractor that installs military communication systems on the ships.

We were blessed to have adopted our daughter in 1992. I got to help with the birthing process and held her before she even took her first breath. Taylor just graduated from High School and is on her way to JMU to double major in Biotechnology and Psychology. Adoption was the best fertility medication I had! Eight months later I found out we were expecting! Stephanie was born in 1993. She will be a junior in high school next year and she will have the honor of participating in the elite chorus "The Madrigal's" during the rest of her high school years. She also has the opportunity to travel and compete with this chorus with the highlight being the competition at the Disney Music Festival in March, 2011. The girls are 17 months apart. It was a fun ride when they were younger, but they have grown up to be best friends! After experiencing two miscarriages, God blessed our family with William in 1998. He hit the ground running and hasn't stopped! He will be a seventh grader in the fall. All three of the children have maintained honor roll and I know you can't tell, but I am one proud mom!

I had the privilege to be a stay-at-home mom when the kids were small. It is the best career I could ever have!

When William started preschool, I became the Assistant Director. That way I could work while the kids were in school and be with them when they were home. I was the director there for about seven years and then took a couple years off. I am now working as an Administrative Assistant at a software development company. We develop, market and support software for healthcare facilities. I love what I do and the best part is that I am home to get the kids to school and I am home when they get home.

I can't believe I summed up the past thirty years in less than 8000 characters. That isn't like me!
