In Memory

Mike Ferguson

Michael Wayne “Mike” Ferguson, 61, of New Castle, Virginia, but formerly of Salem, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024, after a lengthy illness. Born in Roanoke, Va., on April 13, 1962, to the late Walter Willard Ferguson and Nancy Louise Walton, he is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Helen Walton, and Clyde and Halloween Ferguson, as well as his stepmother, Shirley Ferguson.

Mike was a talented artist who could draw just about anything that his eyes could see. He was also mechanically minded and would take things apart to see how they worked. Sometimes, his curiosity would often get the better of him and his “project” would get him in trouble, especially if it didn’t go back together as easily as it came apart. He loved family history and researching genealogy. Mike loved his big, extended family and the times spent together. Above all, he adored his wife, Beth, and their too short time together.

Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Shirley “Beth” Ferguson; daughter, Danielle Renee Ferguson; stepson, Matthew Foley; brother Jerry Ferguson and his wife, Heather; nephew, Carter Ferguson, as well as many cousins and a large extended family.

There will be no services at this time.
