Michael Wayne (Mike) Davis, 48, of Salem, Va., went to walk with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 1, 2009. He was born August 10, 1961, in Christiansburg, Va. Mike had a special love for his family and friends and had a soft heart for animals. He was an auto mechanic and a life long Virginia Tech football fan. He is survived by his loving parents, Warren V. and Virginia Songer Davis; brother and sister-in-law, Dale D. and Hermine Davis; sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Paul Gee; special friend and companion for 22 years, Julie Harris; very special neighbor and friend, Donna Rigney; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem, with the Rev. Gary Butcher officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at John M. Oakey and Son, 540-389-5441.
