Melody Wood (Yingling)

Melody Ann Wood Yingling, 50, of Salem, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2012. She was reunited with her father, James Nelson Wood, grandparents, Calvin and Lallie Wood, Robert and Alma Leonard. She was a graduate of Roanoke College and was employed by the City of Salem as a Program Analyst. She was a lifelong member of First Church of God, Hildebrand Rd. Roanoke.
Surviving are her husband, Charles W. Yingling Jr.; mother, Genevieve Wood; aunt, Frances Wood, of Natural Bridge Station; and a number of cousins and other family members; a special cousin, Linda G. Wood.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home, Salem, with the funeral service taking place on Monday, September 24, 2012 at 1 p.m. at First Church of God, Hildebrand Rd., Roanoke, Va.
The family would like to thank Teresa Deisher and Courtney Bailey of Medi Home Health & Hospice for their care as well as support and to Dr. Paul Richards and the staff at Blue Ridge Cancer Care-Salem for all of their care and support.
